Shanley High School Wins $10,000 at IPPF Finals

Announcing the 2012-13 IPPF World Champion: Shanley High School
The Bickel & Brewer Foundation and New York University are pleased to announce the results of the 2012-13 International Public Policy Forum (IPPF) Finals!
 
During a banquet and awards ceremony in New York City on Saturday, April 13, Shanley High School from Fargo, North Dakota, was named the IPPF World Champion. Shanley High School receives a $10,000 grand prize and the "Bickel & Brewer Cup." 
 
This year's runner-up, Hamilton High School from Chandler, Arizona, receives a $3,500 prize. 
 
Founded by the Bickel & Brewer Foundation in 2001, the IPPF is the first and only competition that gives high school students around the world the opportunity to engage in written and oral debates on issues of public policy. 
 
More than 200 teams from 34 U.S. states and 30 countries took part in this year's competition, debating the topic, "Resolved: Adaptation should be the most urgent response to climate change."

Hamilton was represented by debaters Nischay Upadhyayula, Rajan Seth, and Sanjay Srinivasan.
