Dear All,
The Cambridge Union Society is proud to present one one of the most celebrated debating tournaments in the world and one of the highlights of the debating calendar: The Cambridge Inter-Varsity. This year it will take place on the 15th and 16th of November.
With a registration fee of £85, you will get 5 preliminary rounds, 7 minute speeches on closed motions set by our world class CA team of: Harish Natajaran (Winner EUDC Belgrade, CA Chennai Worlds), Douglas Cochran (3x WUDC Semi Finalist, EUDC Finalist, CA WUDC Berlin), Danique van Koppenhagen (CA Durham EUDC 2014 bid, top ESL speaker EUDC Belgrade) and Ashish Kumar (EUDC Finalist, WUDC Quarterfinalist). The open break will be to Quarter-Finals, with a separate ESL break to Semi-Finals. After the grand final our hogroast and Black Tie social will continue well into the night. A team cap of 120 ensures a strong competition, while an institution cap of 3 seeks to widen participation.
As one of the largest international debating events, we know how important an early registration period is when booking long-distance travel. This is why we are opening international registration earlier than ever before, running from July 15th-25th. The International registration form can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/cambridgeiv-2013-intl-reg
Once International registration has closed we will open up main registration on August 5th-15th. This registration date is open to ALL institutions (meaning that international teams that did not gain a slot in the first round may re-register here). The full registration form can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/cambridgeiv-2013-full-reg
We hope you are as excited as we are for this year's Cambridge IV. If you have any questions, please do get in touch. For further information, please check out our website, facebook and twitter, or email us directly on cambridgeiv.convenors@gmail.com
