Hi all,
This message is in response to rife rumours that the Malaysia Worlds Team has abandoned our promise to ensure that the tournament will be accessible to Israeli participants. Whilst we had previously been addressing these rumours privately; considering the magnitude of the concerns as of late, we decided a wider address would be more appropriate. We hope everyone will consider this message as an assurance of our sincerest commitment to ensuring our Israeli delegates will have the required travel access to our tournament. The Org Comm is hard at work as we remain fully committed in seeing through all of our pledges. We understand that the time lapse was a great cause of concern for the Israeli debating community. But as per our last correspondence with the Israeli representative in mid-April, we had apologised for having to move the deadline of providing the necessary documentation to September instead and brought their attention to the unfortunate delays within the process. We remain firm that we will be able to deliver resolute updates before the end of September. We appreciate all of your patience in the meantime. As a parting note, despite the high degree of concern expressed on social media, there was no attempt to contact any member of the Malaysia WUDC Team for clarifications. I would be very happy to clarify or dissuade any further concerns anyone may have regarding this matter or any other matter that may arise in the future. Thus, please feel free to contact me at mai.mokhsein@gmail.com if you would like me to address anything at hand.
Best regards,
Mai Mokhsein
Convenor Malaysia WUDC 2015
