NEW YORK SENATE PASSES LEGISLATION HONORING THE
NEW YORK CITY DEBATE LEAGUE!
|
Dear Tuna,
Last
week was another historic week for the New York City Debate League when
the New York State Senate passed Senate Resolution 429 to recognize the
achievements of the New York City Great Debaters! Senator Rivera
sponsored the legislation and it was unanimously passed by the State
Senate with thunderous applause to recognize New York's most award
winning academic program! This follows our recognition by the White
House as the nation's top after school program in the arts and
humanities! And in a sneak peak of next week's newsletter - recognition
by the Bronx Borough President as one of the city's top academic
programs! From the city to the state to national awards - there is no
debate - why we call our students the Great Debaters!
And
none of this would be possible without your support!!! Thank you to
all our teachers, all our coaches, all our principals, all our students,
all our families, all our judges, all our alumni, all our donors, and
all of New York City for working together to provide the best debate
education opportunities to all New Yorkers!
BE GREAT! BE A GREAT DEBATER!
Sincerely,
Erik Fogel, Executive Director
The New York City Urban Debate League
