Watch USA-UK Tour Public Debate on Amnesty 1 October 2010

Public debate on the motion: "This House Believes Amnesty is a Necessary Tool to Address Gross Human Rights Violations in Deeply Divided Societies." Proposing the motion will be Marie-Odile Hobeika, University of Pittsburgh and Amber Kelsie, University of Pittsburgh. Opposing the motion will be touring British national debate champions Mary Nugent, University of Cambridge, and Lewis Iwu, BPP School of Law, London. 

The in-person audience for this debate will the some 140 registrants participating in the 12th Biennial Public Address Conference theme on "Human Rights Rhetoric: Controversies, Conundrums and Community Actions," hosted by the University of Pittsburgh. After logging on to the URL above, live audience members can follow the action and even contribute written questions that will be considered for inclusion during the audience Q & A period.

  1. Odile Hobeika is brilliant and one of the most intelligent people I have ever met. She is inspirational and an articulate speaker with good intentions. Her sincerity and sucess will lead her to new doors.
